    A Fight for Being Free—Detroit: Become Human Review

    Have you ever come across a narrative where discrimination follows people belonging to a particular race? Unfortunately, that’s daily news. Well, replace those discriminated against with androids, perfectly capable of thinking beyond what we call is machine-like, and we get Detroit: Become Human.

    Here’s the catch, though! It’s not just androids receiving harsh treatment from humans, but also because they see injustices around them. Although programmed to serve humankind by performing tasks efficiently, androids start developing a conscience and act for what is right.

    There are also instances where Androids would grow emotional, and we would feel for them. Detroit: Become Human is nothing short of extraordinary.

    My Impression:

    We see the game revolving around three characters— Connor, Markus, and Kara. It enables the player with choices to make and consequences to face— just like in real life.

    Each has a different tale of going rogue and independent, having the same goal in mind. Our choices shape the story; hence, not everyone will have the same outcome.

    This game has a great soundtrack that perfectly complements the scenes. Add to that the fantastic graphics and smooth gameplay, this piece of breathtaking adventure takes us on a ride of how a revolution breathes.

    Throughout its story, I felt the struggle the characters faced; how difficult it must be for people in real life who take it upon themselves to rise above adversity and fight for freedom. This game is spectacular, and I loved it. What about you?

    Experience A Two-Man Prison Break—A Way Out Review

    A Way Out features two main characters— Vincent and Leo, who meet each other in prison. Both share their story of how they ended up there.

    They develop a bond like brothers in arms and go off on an exciting but albeit dangerous adventure in their efforts to escape prison.

    Vincent is a calm and poised character who usually prefers the peaceful way out of a situation, while Leo is more aggressive during a confrontation. Here is the catch— we can choose which approach we would like.

    It brings joy to co-op adventure lovers and people who enjoy playing with others. The graphics are amazing, and the camera is in third-person.

    We see some emotional exchanges between Vincent and Leo about how they failed to devote time to their family. It helps us realize that giving time to one’s family is precious.

    There are some intense moments when we feel for the characters. The story was incredible, and there is a twist near the end.

    The co-op gameplay is arresting even to people who usually play solo— like me. I sure had a great time playing this with a dear friend. What about you?

    Enjoy Rania’s Adventure in a Cyberpunk-esque Game—Cloudpunk Review

    Cloudpunk takes place in a futuristic metropolis whose story revolves around Rania, the main protagonist. After leaving the Eastern Peninsula, Rania ended up in Nivalis, a sprawling city with people from different walks of life.

    As elegant as Nivalis sounds, the city interests us early on with its flashing neon lights, hover cars, and humming noise, making the main character a part of a vast world ready for exploration.

    The city presents both humans and androids working together, albeit with difficulties running around similar to what we have in real life, where people judge each other and treat them based on class.

    Background

    Working for Cloudpunk, a delivery company, Rania works under the leadership of a wise man referred to as Control. He gives her directions about package locations on where to pick up and drop off.

    Of course, there is a catch- Rania cannot ask about the package and its contents, which she will be delivering. Little did she know that the night is young, and it will be a while before she can take a break.

    Throughout her journey, she has to make choices when her decision would carry consequences, and the moral complexity would weigh heavily on her shoulders. Indeed, this is an exciting feature of the game.

    Rania would understand that there are no right choices in certain circumstances. She and Control have some fascinating dialogues throughout their journey, and Control would help Rania get used to Nivalis better.

    Impression

    Championing box-shaped objects, the world of pixelated graphics comes to life once we get to know the characters’ exciting persona mixed with intriguing dialogues. This game would help developers see how interesting a cyberpunk-style story can get.

    Perhaps, a future game could make use of this and come up with something better. I would love to try that. What about you?

    Let us assume that Mr. John is an individual who is a hard worker and pursues a career that can help him get established in the corporate sector. He has enough wealth to eat, rest, and invest in resources to help him get there. If he were poor, circumstances would be different and quite challenging. This is why luck plays a significant role in an individual’s success, regardless of talent.

    Luck is essential as it gives the person the environment one genuinely needs to flourish. If a person does not get the right societal atmosphere of learning or use necessary resources, they can’t succeed with anything in life; let alone something big.

    Some famous people would argue that it is not luck that gets a person to the top, but only one’s hard work, and maybe perseverance. While it sounds convincing, it hardly justifies the millions of people with talent not making it in life. Most people would live a simpleton life not because of their choice but also because of their unsympathetic surroundings that did not allow them the time and place. Without a coach, one can hardly achieve something notable. Someone making it in life solely because of their hard work is illogical to conceive and painful to the hard-working people who have a dream but no resources. That is because he or she only gets to channel that towards something that cannot give him or her the field in which one can prosper.

    Thomas Jefferson once said, “I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.” It is relatable once a person has what he or she needs. Then, it depends on the person how hard he or she is willing to work. There is undoubtedly a measure of luck and hard work. Some people work hard with little they have and make their luck, while others work less and get lucky. As prophetic as that line seems, it is true. Then, there is the invisible mass, neglected in life, whose socio-economic status has forced their hands not to pursue something big. They are the kinds who have neither a carefree life nor the way to reach the top.

    In short, hard work and perseverance are essential combos in a person to attain success. However, to make them the only factor for success is subject to critique and reconciliation, for luck allows people to grow in the first place. With luck, a person with no talent can get to the top, if not quickly. However, without it, neither hard-work nor talent would be sufficient for a person’s vision coming into reality and making it to the top. Perhaps, it is a bit of everything that a person needs to be successful.

    When it comes to designing, you cannot go wrong with an Apple even if it costs your arm to get it. A beautiful $549 pair of headphones, albeit completely wireless, is entering the market but looks to be worse for us most while its slickness would attract the few in the top. However, if I were to suggest you for something totally wireless, it would be Audio Technica SR30BT – which gives a 70-hour battery life wireless solution for us all while only boasting its features for a mere $69.99 and Jabra Elite 85H that sometimes drops its prices below its asking of $149.99. The fact is around the $100 headphones, we can get pretty deals that do not break our bank.

    Apple’s latest comes in 5 different colors – Space Gray, Silver, Light Green, Sky Blue, Red. Most of us are better off with black anyway.

    We notice a Digital Crown button that can be utilized by holding it for getting Siri, pressing twice for skipping forward and three times to go backward, and pressing once to do the basic thing like play or pause.

    It has a side-button for noise control, features the same old H1-chip yet guaranteeing an immersive sound quality. It has Bluetooth 5.0 like the Audio Technica SR30BT – completely wireless with no option for using it with a wire.

    It has a 20-hour battery life including using all the features, which is definitely an improvement from their previous AirPods designs but falls way too short of delivering a competitive edge over the market when we have the likes of Jabra Elite 85h that gives 36 hours of battery life with all the cool features and benefits.

    Moving forward, the AirPods Max does have the one-tap setup that includes holding them near to an iPhone to connect, features AirPlay 2 for audio sharing, tons of surrounding microphones actively recreating your surrounding when you are in transparency mode to ensure you have a quality phone call, they even feature on-ear detection where if pull the headphones off your head, they stop playing, and when you put them on again, they start playing again.

    It looks a challenging feat rather for Apple to penetrate the well-established headphone market, with a massive unfriendly price tag that Apple is famous for, albeit with all the features giving their maximum performance, might fail to deliver an awe-inspiring reaction from people. Their strongest point in giving a slick design, which is a personal thing, may not prove enough for Apple to enter a market where most people like me would rather get a $100 pair of headphones like Jabra or Audio Technica.

    Fitness Program for Muscle Strength – Day 2 and then Ongoing

    Some days passed and I was onto my second circuit training with the supervision of Joey, certified trainer, and physiotherapist.

    Even though I had no muscle pain, neither did I have a lack of energy, but boy do the muscles hurt as I am typing this article today reflecting upon the exercises done yesterday. Yes, you are right! The next few days hurt the most.

    The exercises looked easy while doing them but there were certain ones that challenged me (i.e. Chest Fly with an increased weight than the last time). At that moment, it was tough and surely stimulated some muscles to grow, which I like the most. [Pain = It’s Working]

    What were the exercises?

    HERE WE GO!

    Day 2 – a circuit similar to my first day but with some added challenges.

    Remember those 9 types of exercises that I did in my Day 1?

    Yes, exactly the same but with a slight touch of progression:

    1. Jumping Jacks – 35 reps x2
    2. Squat – 15 reps x1
    3. Dumbbells Side-raise then press forward then drop slowly to the original position – 2.5 KG each hand – 10 reps x1
    4. Alternate Lunges – 16 reps x1
    5. One-Dumbbell raise overhead – start upfront keeping your elbows straight then raise it overhead then return to the starting position – single 2.5 KG dumbbell only – keep your palms facing up – 15 reps x1
    6. Alternate Leg Step-up to an elevated position upfront then – step up using your right leg then use that to return to the original position; now do the same with the left one (that’s 2 reps – 1 leg = 1 rep) – 16 reps x1
    7. Chest Fly – 2.5 KG Dumbbells held with each hand – start with a raised sideways position then press it forward then back to the original position – 10 reps x1
      Thoughts: Boy, was it tough! I had to rest for a few seconds between every 5 reps. No matter how hard it looks, keep going! Bingo! Instant motivation.
    8. Side-squat stand with both feet together, widen your right leg to the right side and squat then return and do the same towards the left – 16 reps altogether x1
    9. Chest push forward – One 2.5 KG Dumbbell – hold with each hand standing up with elbows bent, palms facing down – 15 reps x1

    I WAS TIRED!

    Those exact types of exercises continued for two rounds only that this time, I had a Round 3 on Jumping Jacks of 35 reps done twice.

    Core Exercises (they help to grow your Abs!):

    If you want abs, you gotta think about doing core exercises!

    1. Planks 20 counts x3
    2. Pelvic raise with heel down and toes up – you have to push your heel down when you are doing it – 20 counts x3

    No Stretches done this time!

    Yes! It’s okay not to do them.

    Advice From the Trainer

    STAY HYDRATED!

    Drink a lot of water!

    FOOD TIME

    I had a bowl of Kellogg’s Chocos, that always tastes great!

    Remember, the workouts are almost always the same, at least with hitting a certain muscle area. With each week, you need to increase the muscle tension and intensity by varying weights. Once you are confident enough, explore the nearest gym around you. After you become used to the basic exercises, go for intermediate and then advanced workouts. One day, doing these at the gym would become second nature to you. 😀

    Fitness Program for Muscle Strength – Day 1

    Since the injury…

    Years passed by…

    Months of physiotherapy passed by…

    I wanted so much to just return to my workout life.

    THE STRUGGLE

    That I felt so empty inside says a lot about my passion for staying fit. The period came to a halt when my physiotherapist felt I am ready to start taking some pain to strengthen muscles which need to grow. Having a trainer beside you is one of the most important things when you are starting something intense. After all, your body should be perfectly aligned when you are working out.

    MY DUMBBELL PLATE

    Day 1 – a circuit that kept me going on doing all 9 types of exercises. TWICE!I felt it! And, I know my next day will feel worse.

    I felt it.

    The 9 Exercises That Certainly Stimulated My Muscle Growth:

    1. Jumping Jacks – 30 reps x2
    2. Squat – 15 reps x1
    3. Dumbbell 1.25 KG each hand raise sideways together then press forward then return downwards to original position – 15 reps x1
    4. Alternate Lunges – 16 reps x1
    5. 2.5 KG single Dumbbell hold with both hands, start from upfront then raise it overhead then return to the starting position – 15 reps x1
    6. Alternate Leg Step-up to an elevated position upfront – 16 reps x1
    7. Chest Fly 1.25 KG Dumbbell hold with each hand start with a raised sideways position then press it forward then back to the original position – 15 reps x1
    8. Side-squat stand with both feet together, widen your right leg to the right side and squat then return and do the same towards the left – 16 reps altogether x1
    9. Chest push forward with 1.25 KG Dumbbell hold with each hand standing up with elbows bent, palms facing down – 15 reps x1

    Finishing-up with Abdominal Muscle Contraction and More Workout:

    1. Planks 20 counts x2
    2. Pelvic raise with heel down and toes up – 20 counts x2

    Stretches that Help Just Any Workout:

    1. Stand and bend your right knee backward holding it with your right hand and balance yourself and then do the same with the other leg – 10 counts x2
    2. Place right foot on an elevated position forward with toes facing up and push down your right thigh slightly using both hands and then do the same with the other leg – 10 counts x1

    The post-workout feeling is magical as it did always back in the days. I am really looking forward to the next session as I need to rest my body for the muscles to heal.

    FOOD TIME

    The energy needed to work out is the investment that I felt like going for. It’s hard to stay active. But once you get past that stage, it’s a whole different scenario. You get addicted to the “ACTIVE YOU”.

    SLIMMING TEA

    Day ended with a bowl of cereal and a German Herb Slimming tea taken with cold water that I am experimenting with so that I do not develop extra layers of fat.
