  • Where I Felt It—An Experience of a Lifetime

Where I Felt It—An Experience of a Lifetime

I couldn’t let it go. My head could move no longer and my arms could barely go here and there; even the fingers felt numb at some point.

All I see is the multilayered white ceiling that was limited to my otherwise peripheral vision, beyond the already attached tin foil metallic thing.

Minutes in, and I couldn’t get used to it.

Moments pass as I opened my eyes, I asked for help by squeezing the ball for assistance. I couldn’t breathe, it felt like my life was threatened by the intense position I was held in.

I saw the clock and it was an hour passed already, and that’s when I realized I probably slept in the very awkward stance I felt suffocated when breathing in and staying conscious proved to be too painful.

I had to think of some memories to pass my time through cause this time I was pretty up. I couldn’t fall asleep again.

I remembered ‘Fresh,’ one of my recently watched movies where one of the characters had a much more bizarre experience.

I felt it in my bones, the horror people must have gone through their life while seeking freedom from the very shackles of captivity.

    At last, I felt free.

Hold on, I had to bite onto something this time. The complexity increased. My sight of freedom was delayed. I went through those same emotions again. Need to go through it one more time. I boosted my confidence, I got this!

Twenty minutes or so had gone by when it finally ended.

I found a new purpose of humbleness and appreciation for the moment I got free and the moment I stood and breathed easy, I would keep this memory afresh, definitely not for the enjoyment but for the realization at best.

I felt like a new human being as I walked out of the MRI examination room, the place where I felt suffocated for an hour and a half. I remembered the staff stating this is one of the most complicated MRI exams. I can certainly attest to that.

Finally, I see the freedom I longed for the last couple of hours! Only this time I actually got it!

  • A Relationship of Unusual Craving—Fresh Movie Review

A Relationship of Unusual Craving—Fresh Movie Review

Not every love story starts with a bang! But this one did.

The girl shyly starts a dating app. But she doesn’t like anyone, and has good reasons too. We see the few ridiculous number of texts that can turn any decent girl off and make us guys go “eww.”

A guy approaches her at a usual grocery store (how cute!) and gets her number at the end. Then starts a conversation upon which the girl soon starts falling.

She has a best friend Mollie, who does not like the idea of her going out with this man, especially to a place called ‘Cottage Grove.’

Soon, what unfurls is nothing we anticipated before as the guy and the girl go through a journey of wits, play, suffering and whatnot.

You’ll go through different emotions but it’s not for the faint of hearts. You need to watch it with some disclaimer upfront—thriller and moments of agony and pain of living through the characters as the scenes start to reveal more throughout the movie.

What we have here is a crazy story that involves you and how your decisions have consequences. It helps you consider making decisions in life with a whole lot of thinking beforehand.

So, what do you value in a relationship? And how do you earn someone’s trust? Exactly how long does it take to know a person? Questions that are left unanswered.

I’m not gonna spoil stuff for you, but this movie is surely not what you’d expect on a regular drama movie.

To watch Fresh (2022), please head over to Hulu today!

  • The Batman—A Detective-Noir Dark Tale [NO SPOILER]

The Batman—A Detective-Noir Dark Tale [NO SPOILER]

The Batman couldn’t be darker, at least that’s what I thought by the end of it. The caped crusader and Bruce Wayne’s epic donning in clothes could not have a thinner bridge between one and the other in regards to how it dawns upon us people to witness an epic opening of this new version of The Batman.

    Character

Robert Pattinson surely nailed it as the World’s Greatest Detective, albeit with a slight sloppy here and there, which makes sense since he is still becoming and the journey has only begun.

Catwoman stood the test of time as one of the best for taking the role with her both humane attitude and warrior-like appearance.

The Batmobile chase sequence felt suspenseful at first and great seconds after with its fresh engine revs and a great take on a finely designed tank.

Image Credit: Warner Brothers & IGN

Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne and the caped crusader had this dark appearance that made it look so gloomy yet real. The movie gave away a visual comic-like vibe. It felt more like Bruce and Batman were the same person with a costume in or out even though it was not supposed to be that obvious. When he donned in that suit, it made the scenes gritty and real. His voice was not unrealistic as Nolan’s Batman movies made them out to be but just a little low on the voice.

    Sound

The sound effects during the few action scenes left me with an aura of invincibility and kept me hooked into the action as if Batman’s life depends on it. Every punch or kick in the various combat scenes made me think whether Batman would prevail or not—definitely making the dark knight a lot fresher into the world of vigilantism and vulnerable than he could ever be.

Jeffrey Wright plays his wits as Gordon and decides with all the weight of carrying the law on his shoulders and accommodating the vigilante with everything he can.

When I was going out, I noticed people humming silly vocal gestures comparing it with the action-induced Avengers. The thing is we are watching DC classics in a post-marvel world. What Avengers did was they brought out the Justice League thing before it even did in screen time.

The weird thing is Colin Farrell was in the movie, and yet he wasn’t. Cause his face and voice were different, which begs the question that he was just cast for his acting and nothing else.

    Impression

My impression may not be accurate as I missed the first half an hour of the movie. However, for now, my initial impression stands at a solid 9.0 for keeping up with the expectation and delivering yet an insightful and damaged Bruce Wayne and The Batman—perhaps, the perfect comic-based superhero movie that consists of reasonable action scenes leaving us with a dark and precious Gotham City that we all love.

  • The Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

When the great president Abraham Lincoln signed the executive order that stated, “all persons held as slaves” within the Confederacy “shall be free,” he helped the Black community to establish their dignity in America. It also helped other people of color establish their presence throughout history.

However, only so many greats followed Lincoln’s ideals of a great nation. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of those great individuals who aligned well with a similar view of a free America, fought for racial justice, and showed moral courage.

A hundred years on, and with the still-struggling Black community, Dr. King, using his skills as a preacher, led the Civil Rights movement in the 20th century and delivered speeches—advocating for the integration of Black Americans and the end of segregation altogether. He also believed it would create a “beloved community,” where people would transcend boundaries of race and be united in God.

His movement led to the Civil Rights Act in 1964–a great accomplishment for the whole of America.

On August 28, 1963, his famous speech “I have a dream” in the march on Washington would cause waves throughout communities around the world to this day.

“…I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character. I have a dream today,” in his speech serves as a brilliant reminder that humanity prevails when we accept one another regardless of our distinctive features—race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

May God bless us all with the wisdom to accept people who look and sound different so that we can live in peace and harmony.

  • A Touching but Clichéd Farewell to Craig’s Bond Series—No Time To Die Review

A Touching but Clichéd Farewell to Craig’s Bond Series—No Time To Die Review

When you try a Bond film, you know you’re in for some gun-blazing and car-chasing action, along with some witty remarks and dialogues between Bond and his co-workers and adversaries. What you don’t get are slices of drama since Daniel Craig’s version got a ton of them, indulging us with a different flair than what the 007 franchise was known for before Casino Royale made its debut, and certainly did not disappoint with its fifth installment—No Time To Die.

Are you watching this for the first time though? No worries. You can try it, even though this is a sequel to Casino Royale and Spectre. Regardless, the movie does explain tidbits, enough to get you along with the story’s nuance if you decide to hop into the movie theater with no time for the previous ones.

Looking back to the days of Sean Connery’s version, this series played an important role in showing the human side of James—a unique approach, something that is unprecedented. Perhaps the critique it received from doing so makes sense since Bond should feel invincible according to how the world around 007 used to be back in the days.

However, Craig did a fantastic job portraying the brutal emotions while keeping his conversations piquant enough that got the story going. We have seen Bond exercising his license to kill in one scene while letting out a witty remark in the next. However, Craig plays out his stoniness on his enemies, showing he’s Bond, while when the lights are off him, he goes back to being the heartbroken and frustrated human being that got sick of all the lying and bullshit he has been under while protecting his country at the most dangerous level.

Interesting is seeing Bond breaking down while keeping his guard on and off, composure as quieted down while thinking about his past choices. After all, James Bond, with all his talent and sophistication, is a human. You can relate to some of it – which is crazy enough to make you think that it is happening to James Bond.

Perhaps, as brutish as Craig appears, he also showed a remarkable amount of how a 00 agent can go through when battling with arrays of betrayal from people whom he trusts the most.

It shows that an agent can hardly have a peaceful life with everything they go through. Even after retirement, peace is a rare commodity.

Although Rami Malek’s character ‘Safin’ puts his genius on the surface, the antagonist lacked depth and sounded relatively soft, especially when compared to how villains in typical Bond films appear. Also, that this is the last movie of this series, it could have done better.

    Impression

Although not a regular premiere watcher myself, and preferred the comfort of my home, I could not resist but to chance to see this out in the theaters. You’ll find a drama-induced action film, which is natural considering you saw the other ones.

I was going through a web of different scenarios this film could have finished with instead of how cliched it ended up being. Perhaps it would have had more grace. Despite all that, this movie is surely an 8/10 for taking on the challenging task of showing a machine that can also be human.

  • How this Crazy Doctor Inspires Everyone—The Good Doctor Review

How this Crazy Doctor Inspires Everyone—The Good Doctor Review

Freddie Highmore nails it as surgeon Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor, but here is the catch–he is autistic and a savant. So, how did he end up in a prestigious hospital in California?

The episode includes a debate going on between the President of the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital and the board members on why he is so keen on hiring Dr. Murphy despite his lack of being just another qualified individual or so the board desires. The thing is the President knew Dr. Murphy from when he was young and watched him in his grooming.

    Background

Growing up with a troublesome father, Shaun and his brother decided to desert their home and live on their own, which was aggravated by the latest encounter with his father who threw their pet rabbit towards the wall that led to its death. That frightening incident started because of Shaun’s inability to last in multiple schools like a normal person, which made his father lost his cool. The brothers decided it was enough for them to not live in that house anymore.

However, Shaun’s brother fell from the top one day and breathe his last, leaving Shaun all alone, except for Dr. Glassman, the president of the prestigious hospital who had Dr. Murphy in his lens during his upbringing and was confident enough to believe that he can make a difference in the future.

    The Introduction

Shaun was sitting in the debate room where one of the board members asked him why he wanted to be a doctor.

Shaun stared blankly, thinking of his why… Dr. Glassman was waiting for a concrete reason to come out from Shaun’s mouth. Shaun paused so much that the annoyed became too confident that he would fail to give anything concrete. And then, Dr. Murphy came up with the story about how horrible he felt seeing his brother’s soul leaving his innocent body, which gave him the reason why he wants others to live by being a surgeon. And that, he wants to create an impact.

It was a pretty solid reason or so it felt to many across the board.

    Impression

Many episodes had moments that gave me some fresh perspectives about life while some had me laugh. Either Dr. Murphy’s weird questions he posed to Dr. Melendez during an OT, or his pursuit of trying out new lines to explore communication skills. All roads kind of strengthened my belief that life is indeed a place for everyone to live.

Perhaps, people with conditions that are apparent can do things normal people cannot. It is perhaps, a matter of time for them to show it once they are given a chance. Maybe, every one of us has a gift we must try to discover.

The Good Doctor is a feel-good show. And this is my impression of it so far.

Try it on either abc or Netflix!

Here’s the trailer to the show:

    Hope you enjoy it!

  • How Gaming Helps Ease Your Stress in Today’s Digital World [10 Ways]

How Gaming Helps Ease Your Stress in Today’s Digital World [10 Ways]

Gaming is an enjoyable way to reduce stress. Sometimes it can distract people from the stresses of life and can help them cope with their anxiety.

The article states that playing video games is a healthy and helpful way to deal with stress. It points out that people who play video games are more likely to have higher self-esteem and confidence levels than those who don’t play them at all.

In recent years, many researchers studied the effects of gaming on our mental health. The studies suggest that while playing video games can make people less aware of their surroundings, this type of amusement also has many benefits.

    1. Gaming is escapism

One purpose of playing games is to escape from the problems and frustrations we experience in everyday life. Games are an escape for people who do not want to face reality but live in a different world. Sometimes, we see people develop a drinking habit, which is harmful. Instead, gaming is a better alternative to step into a different world.

The escapism aspect of video games can be self-destructive because it takes up too much time and energy. It becomes a problem when people neglect essential parts of their lives, such as work, relationships, or physical health, because of gaming.

Regardless, if gaming helps a person be more comfortable coping with their lives, perhaps one should do it.

    2. Playing games can help you forget about the bad day you had

Games have been around for as long as humans have. The first games that the Homosapien played were probably for survival, like hunting or gathering. Our ancestors distracted themselves from their work-filled days and play. We still do this today.

Games are not just for children anymore! About 51% of people in the U.S. play video games regularly, according to eMarketer. And Statista records almost 80% are adults, aging 18 and older. That’s many people playing video games! And other studies have found that people who play video games have better problem-solving skills and improved hand-eye coordination.

    3. Gaming Improves focus and concentration

Playing video games helps improve focus and concentration and is one of the most popular ways to spend their spare time. With so many people dedicating a lot of time to playing these games, there is no shortage of research about their effects on their mental health. One interesting study looked at how playing video games improved focus and concentration in people with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.) When children with ADHD played their specified game for three months, their mental health improved—frenzy, impulsiveness, and inattention decreased.

The article says that this trend increases as more people improve their cognitive function throughout the day or need help with something more specific, like enhancing their creativity, focus, or memory.

    4. Games can help improve your memory and cognition

Chess has been one of the oldest board games since the 6th century, and people still love to play it. It helps develop memory and cognition, but what are the benefits of playing chess?

Playing chess also brings benefits to your mind. Research has shown that it can improve your memory and cognition while also reducing stress levels. But don’t take just my word for it—here are some studies that support these claims:

A study in 2003 found that playing chess helped improve short-term memory. The study showed that participants who played chess had faster reaction times on tests of short-term memory than those who didn’t play at all.

Another study from 2005 showed that chess participants improved their cognitive abilities more than those who were not.

    5. Games can help reduce stress levels by keeping your attention focused for a more extended period

Playing any game can be a stress reliever. One way that games help reduce stress is by keeping your attention focused for an extended period. A study found that playing Tetris for three minutes at a stretch reduced the participants’ anxiety levels by more than half. Another survey on Tetris found that after playing for 10 hours over two weeks, people’s systolic blood pressure dropped, and they felt less tense during stressful periods in their lives.

Games are also great because they are entertaining and engaging, which eliminates boredom and reduces stress levels.

    6. Increase your creativity by playing games that require thinking outside the box

Video games improve different aspects of intelligence, and research shows that playing them encourages creativity.

Play a game to increase your creativity by challenging your brain to think outside the box.

    7. Gaming can increase your problem-solving skills

Games are just a waste of time, but it turns out that they might be more beneficial than we think. Studies show that playing video games can make you smarter and have better problem-solving skills.

There are many benefits of gaming. For example, it can increase cognitive skills by introducing players to new challenges and puzzles that they can figure out independently.

In addition, research has shown that video games help develop creativity because players have to come up with solutions for obstacles they face in the game. Video games also help with visual and spatial attention, improving your ability in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

Lastly, some studies have shown that playing video games can increase your brain power and reasoning skills.

    8. Improve your social skills through gaming

Some games have designed social dynamics. These games help players with their social skills by practicing and learning how to react in various situations. For example, a game like Watch Dogs 2 or The Witcher 3 offers players multiple missions, including interacting with other characters and choosing an appropriate response.

Games can be a way to improve social skills through practice. There is no set time frame or the correct answer for the player, just opportunities for learning how to interact socially through play.

    9. Games can be an excellent tool for learning new things

Games are not just for fun and entertainment. We can also learn new skills. Game-based learning, a system that uses games as part of the instructional process, is an effective instructional style implemented in recent years in many schools worldwide and is helpful for students with different proficiency levels.

One of the best teaching methods lies in gaming because they work on all three of the learner’s learning styles. They are visual learners (people who learn best through images), auditory learners (people who understand best through sound), and kinesthetic learners (people who comprehend best by doing.)

    10. Stress relief through gaming humor

It turns out that humor and stress relief go hand in hand. Humor is almost always a relief to stress and strain. It lowers blood pressure, reduces cortisol levels, and calms the nerves.

As games move away from being just for kids, they are also more mentally challenging. Many modern games have a sense of humor, and it has proven to help the player de-stress and avoid long-term stress.

Many players who play these games will report feeling happier after playing them, which is invaluable when escaping their everyday stresses or anxieties. They can also help players feel more relaxed before bedtime if they’re going to get into bed feeling happy and content.

We find most humor as jokes or comedy routines. There are also many comedy movies and TV shows that can combat stress. We often see the best type of humor for relieving stress as slapstick or physical comedy. Anything that makes you laugh without thought is perfect for releasing some of that pent-up tension.

Laughter will undoubtedly help decrease their physical effect on the body, but it will also increase their sense of well-being and inner peace. That’s why choosing a game or movie with a beautiful sense of humor is always helpful.

    Conclusion

People always look for ways to reduce stress and gain relaxation. One popular method is gaming.

Games provide an escape from reality while also providing a sense of accomplishment. It can distract us from our worries and problems while also reminding us that there is more to life than just the problems that we have every day.

Games are also beneficial because they allow players to practice their cognitive skills while having fun at the same time. Many games out there require critical thinking and strategic planning, which will enable players to exercise their brains in a fun way.

    Don’t stress. Game instead.

  • Why Use an AI Writer? [Multiple Reasons]

Why Use an AI Writer? [Multiple Reasons]

One of the most annoying things for writers—writer’s block has almost crushed many writers that some even gave up writing a particular topic, or at least, I did.

    Why Traditional Writers?

It is not necessary to hire writers if you only need help with the occasional blog post. Your brain can do that. Hopefully!

However, if you are looking for someone who can take on more significant projects, that might be the right time to do so.

The first thing that you need is research. Read through reviews of those who offer these services and see what people are saying about them. This way, you’ll know if it’s worth your time and money or not.

The next thing is hiring a writer and setting expectations from both sides. You need to make sure that they are fully aware of what you expect from them regarding deadlines and quality and what their responsibilities will entail.

Explain that you want to see a draft before approving the final piece, for example, or that you don’t want them to use words like “I” or “me.”

Any requirements that you have, please put them forward. If they can’t adhere to these guidelines, you have to look for someone else without wasting much time later.

One thing is clear—lots of time in management and research.

    Why AI Writers?

“No more writer blocks,” says the AI writers! It has become a reality.

AI writers are better than human writers because they can generate content at scale. They can also produce quality content that is relevant to the audience.

Anyone who has tried to write a blog post or an article knows how difficult it can be to get ideas flowing and put them into words. With AI writing assistants, this process is no longer complicated as they can get ideas floating in just a matter of minutes.

However, you need to work around the content that the software spills out to perfect it.

    Why Edit After?

You are the editor when it comes to AI Writing!

Although expensive and takes time to hire, a human expert can creatively look after your project. An AI writer, with the capabilities of OpenAI, can only generate what it can deliver.

It needs your full attention on the written content. However, for bloggers like myself who can do the editing, AI writing is nothing short of extraordinary.

Because let’s face it: when we have content to expand on and an application to fix the mishaps and the unusual typos, blogging becomes way more manageable than you think.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Changing the Way Content is Created for Every Business

AI is changing the way content is created for every business. It automates a lot of this process. Today, as content marketing is becoming a new norm, it is essential to use AI to improve efficiency and ensure that the content resonates with your readers.

AI can do everything from drafting blog posts to writing emails or generating infographics for your website. AI can also help you keep track of the progress you’re making on your social media accounts and assist with live chat conversations or customer service issues.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence Writers in Every Business Scenario

Many benefits come from the use of AI writers. For example, they can generate content at scale for companies and websites. They are also better at generating content than humans, albeit with errors with the current technology.

Various industries have used AI writers because they can help them in a variety of ways. For example, real estate agents may use them to find out what people want in a home and then create the perfect listing package without doing any research themselves.

The healthcare industry could benefit from AI writers if they’re trying to make sure that their patients understand the risks and benefits of specific treatments or procedures.

How AI Writers Improve Your Marketing Campaigns & Product Launch?

AI writers have the potential to improve your marketing campaigns and product launches by significantly reducing your workload, but they are not a replacement for human copywriters. In a nutshell, they assist the content writers by doing some work for them.

Why You Need AI Writers for Your Next Project? How to Choose a Perfect AI Writer for your Brand?

AI writers are more efficient than humans when it comes to generating content for various topics. They can help you automate content generation by coming up with many ideas for you in a short amount of time and without writer’s block.

Many companies nowadays use AI technology as part of their daily workflow and generate more content than before. But what is the best way to choose an AI writer that is perfect for your brand? Here are some tips on finding the right one:

    • Finding the type of content you want to write—different types of media, such as news writing, blog posts, or copywriting
    • Look for industry-leading AI content writing applications in the marketplace

Some of the Best AI Writing Tools that Content Writers can use

The G2 website looks different in 2021, with the likes of Jarvis slightly falling short of its second place because of Rytr’s cheaper offering for getting a decent output for its price. Then, you have Writesonic just below Jarvis, another alternative currently open for a lifetime deal somewhere (Best AI Writing Assistant Software in 2021, n.d.)

However, Jarvis AI beats the quality of almost all its competitors in the market. Other software, such as Copy AI, may come close, but the workaround is more. There have been reviews of having made-up facts spilled by Jarvis that could probably be a placeholder for putting research-based content there.

The future of copywriting involves AI writers. They are not a replacement for human copywriters, but they will help them do their job better.

Many companies already use AI assistants to generate content. Some digital agencies, for example, use AI assistants to produce all kinds of content for their clients.

  • Multiple Ways You Can Manage Almost Any Stress

Multiple Ways You Can Manage Almost Any Stress

Stress is the mental and emotional strain people experience when they face a stressful situation, which both internal and external factors can cause.

With an infectious disease like COVID-19 still making the news, life can be tougher for some working-class people, especially the front liners.

A “fight-or-flight” response can be when someone has an automatic physiological reaction to an event, which could be stressful or frightening, often initiated by external factors such as deadlines, conflict, or family strife. Still, it can also be triggered internally from thoughts of worry or doubt about one’s capabilities.

For example, a person who feels pressure to handle a heavy workload will likely feel stress until their workload decreases.

How to tell if we are stressed?

In 2021, you can tell in two ways, through tests or sometimes, detecting symptoms at home. You can figure out your stress levels through a blood pressure checker. Some of you have that at home. So, a simple check could remove plenty of those worries.

There is also a test that can measure the amount of cortisol in your saliva. This way, people who are stressed can get treatment before it becomes too severe.

You can do an EEG (Electroencephalogram that detects abnormalities in brain waves) test for brain activity or an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging that produces detailed images of the inside of the body) scan for the brain to find more details about your stress levels.

These are just a few ways to detect stress in modern life.

    Causes of Stress

Stress can be due to several things, including being overworked, feeling anxious about an upcoming event, or feeling under pressure. Stress can also be caused by not getting enough sleep or exercising.

The best way to find out if you are stressed is to monitor your stress levels. The most common way is to take a day or two off from work and use this time for self-reflection and relaxation. If you still feel stressed after that period, then it’s likely that you are not taking care of yourselves enough.

Regardless of how you find out, you must be wary of symptoms and deal with them accordingly.

    How to relieve stress?

Stress can adversely affect your health. It makes you anxious, agitated, or even depressed if you don’t manage it well. However, there are some ways to relieve stress in 2021.

Some people find that developing new skills is an excellent way to relieve stress. They could learn so many new and exciting skills – from making a website for your small business to learning how to dance.

Learning something new may be just what someone needs to reduce their feelings of anxiety and unease in the world.

Another thing that people could do is spend more time with friends and family members they care about deeply. Humans beings are social creatures, and spending time with those most important in our lives will help us feel happy and fulfilled again.

Family get-togethers are even more remedial for people who tend to connect less with strangers or prefer having connections within a small circle.

A stress-free life warrants that you reduce your social media usage, helping you spend more time with the people around you and be aware of what is happening in the world.

It would be best to get rid of your TV because it makes you less productive and less creative. I am just kidding! Of course, please do not get rid of it. TV helps too! Just limit its usage if you are too hung up with it.

You might also change your diet so that it includes more proteins, good fats, and vegetables. These are essential for an overall healthy lifestyle.

Hit the gym if it makes you feel better.

Stress levels can reduce once you feel content and fulfilled with your life. It can start with small things you achieve throughout the weeks, months, or years.

Feel more confident in the things you do well by mastering them level after level.
