  • How Ezoic Boosts Your Blog with its Unique Accelerator [More Speed = More Revenue]

How Ezoic Boosts Your Blog with its Unique Accelerator [More Speed = More Revenue]

Ezoic is a beautiful platform that boosts your site speed as per the site speed course it offers to its users. I feel more empowered now that it enabled some incredible speed improvement features for my website.

The site speed course points out these criteria on how they improve your blog’s speed:

    1. Giving attention to all typical speed issues
    2. Optimizing a website’s speed
    3. Enhancing UX with visitor-focused loading
    4. Simplifying and centralizing all speed tools

Following are some tools that Ezoic uses to determine site speed success. As a happy user, I want you to have some ideas about what you can get using their platform.

    • Amazon Cloud Services (AWS)

Ezoic directs its users through the server closest to them, thus enabling Ezoic’s CDN server when you allow the site speed accelerator.

    • Ad Delay

Ezoic loads ads AFTER loading a site’s content. The user can interact with the website before the ads display.

Users have a faster and better experience than on other sites where ads are loading as fast as the content.

Thus, it does not disrupt the user experience.

Ezoic makes your site load images only when users see them. Sites will not load all the pictures at once except only when users scroll through the page.

    • Lazy/Asynchronous Loading for Images

Ezoic’s Image Resizing optimizes the image file size without jeopardizing image quality.

Next-Gen Images come in WebP format so that your images are less in file size.

    • Delayed and Minified JavaScript

The website loads specific Javascripts faster than others to ensure the site loads in the most efficient manner.

Machine learning helps Ezoic use websites to load only to get the content ready as soon as you visit the web page.

There are caching and site speed plugins to speed up the page. Ezoic site accelerator would need you to turn off those WP-Rocket, WP-related cache plugins cause they are incompatible.

Turn off any caching and site speed plugins so that Ezoic can effectively optimize your site.

    • Iframe Lazy Loading

If your article has a Youtube video, it will load once you click on it. The first click says that you want to watch the video, so the site loads the video for playback.

    • Inefficient Cache Policy

It enables your browser to download some of the static assets so that the next time you visit, you will have a faster loading site.

Different javascript may not change, while the content on the site may differ from the previous visits.

Hence, Ezoic’s cache policy will let you load from CDN’s server and not the host server for fast site loading the next time around.

    • Unused CSS

Critical CSS Rendering utilizes the site according to a person’s web page from either a desktop, mobile, or tab.

Ezoic renders the critical CSS needed for the webpage to load the site in its design. It removes the unused CSS to make the site speed accelerator useful.

    My Impression

There is one way we understood that Ezoic improves a site’s speed.

    CONTENT.

Ezoic’s primary concern is getting the user to see the content and why they landed on the site.

Only after that, they load javascript, images, etc.

    Understanding Caching in Ezoic’s Dashboard

CDN cache is a copy of your website close to the people viewing it. Cache clearing would make it as though they are visiting it for the first time and thus, might take some time.

Make sure the caching is on all the devices like desktop, mobile, and tablet.

  • Five Interesting Characters on a Murder Case—Thimbleweed Park Review

Five Interesting Characters on a Murder Case—Thimbleweed Park Review

    Two characters scheduled a meeting.

The scene pans and stops at Willie, a man giving off a vibe like drinking a bottle to its last drops.

Mr. Boris hurried to the gate only to find a Willie, the drunkard who dozed off asking for one more bottle to which Mr. Boris shuddered a resounding no.

You can talk to Willie before or after passing the small wooden gate.

Either way, Willie dozes off to his wonderland without answering Boris’ question on whether he noticed any passerby. Mr. Boris was probably referring to the one with whom he has the meeting.

He has four objectives before he can meet the (shady) person. He must leave his ID in his hotel room, go to the river down by the Trestle Trail bridge, turn off the light above the Trestle Trail sign as a signal that he arrived, and meet the person at the large entrance to the underground sewers.

    Sounds detailed enough!

He does all these, only to become a victim of a crime.

Two agents who got assigned to the murder case came across each other wishing if only they worked alone.

The atmosphere grows interesting as the characters carry themselves off as lone wolves trying to sort this case by revealing nothing about themselves to each other.

It is how one agent revealed only a tiny detail about himself and stated that he answered as a “need-to-know,” a purely diplomatic expression.

    Graphics

Take away the wide-screen, and you will get the 80s and 90s style point-and-click adventure feel. It has a Monkey Island feel, too, except without the overwhelming humor that the other brings.

    Gameplay

You hover the mouse over an object and use the command ‘Use’ or ‘Open’ to direct the character into action.

At first, you have the option to go through the casual mode or the hard mode. I would prefer you select the hard difficulty as the developer designed the game to play that way.

The casual mode also cuts out half of the puzzles and, thus, the gameplay.

    My Impression

Ron Gilbert, the creator of the Monkey Island adventure, and Gary Winnick dedicated a lot of puzzle-solving delight to this game that has decent voice acting and breathes life into the five main characters.

However, this slight-comedy-based adventure game solves a typical problem of this genre: a To-Do list for every playable character. This feature could be time-saving for many people, especially those who have a busy work-life as I do.

The voice acting may not be up to the mark of a great Lucas Arts story; however, the game has many hundreds of puzzles to solve this crime mystery.

Hence, it’s a simple decision for us adventure gamers.

It feels great to see that the traditional point-and-click still thrives to this day! I love this game. And I believe so will you!

  • How to Improve Your LinkedIn Game? Start with these 10 Tips!

How to Improve Your LinkedIn Game? Start with these 10 Tips!

LinkedIn, the Professional Social Network that keeps on growing! Want to up your LinkedIn game? Follow these 10 tips I gathered from Linkedin themselves below:

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio from Pexels

Include your Best Headshot Picture with a Smile!

Are you shy to smile openly at the camera? Well, if you do not want to drop LinkedIn to forward your so-called ‘Resume,’ then you must have a picture donning on your best outfit with a smile.

There is no getting away with it. You would NOT want to give an impression that you are somewhat of a grumpy person, would you?

Hence, practice smiling. It will not hurt. Instead, it will bring dividends.

Add keywords to your profile headline: Short and Impressive

If you are an entrepreneur, highlight what you are interested in collaborating on. Or, include your job title if you are holding a job and would like to get a new opportunity working for, let’s say Google or Apple.

Include two sentences: one your entrepreneurial field or job title and the other stating your intention of putting up such a LinkedIn Profile.

For example, Administrative Assistant at Ford. Interested in working as an executive assistant at a great firm.

Make sure you update your profile

You do not want to see yourself associated with your old company while you are still three months in your new one. You can also include keywords in your profile description.

It means that you should write for the search engines, not just your profile viewer. You need to know your skills; also that are prevalent in the market.

Now, HR can track your profile. That’s what you want.

    Write a summary about yourself

Summary? Make it enjoyable! Imagine if you were to get impressed by reading the first line.

Make that line about yourself. People want to get an idea about what you did in about a few seconds.

An executive should be able to see your best self. And YOU can do that with an excellent summary.

The summary allows you to present yourself in a way that catches the readers’ attention and gets them invested in it.

Use keywords in your profile description

Use relevant skills as your hook to the people reading your profile. If you have excellent typing skills, perhaps include that, especially when it helps with almost every desk job.

If you have excellent managerial skills, you might mention that besides your computer skills, especially if you are looking for a management job.

    Use a relevant Cover Photo

Find out a good cover photo that goes with what you do in your job. If you are working at Ford, upload a picture of the latest Ford vehicle that your company launched recently.

    Use a custom-made URL

Pick a good URL that resembles you. It could be your name or something that describes you. For example, a doctor can give something like “Doctor [dot] Hansen,” Hansen as in one’s last name.

Make connections over 500 at least

LinkedIn makes connections with over 500 seem like 500+. So, a person who has 600 connections and a person who has 1000 will show has 500+ on LinkedIn.

Therefore, increase your contacts by engaging with posts another put on this platform.

Increase your reach by showing interest in other people’s posts and raise your chance of securing multiple connections.

Make use of Recommendations and Skill Endorsements

If you have a manager, make use of their recommendation on your LinkedIn profile by asking them to endorse you for skills and recommendations on LinkedIn, which nothing but complements the section.

Photo by Tracy Le Blanc from Pexels

    Keep your Profile Active

Try to post about things you are interested in every week or few times every month. That seems like a decent start if you are a beginner.

See google trends and figure out what is going on around you. Suppose you are interested in a particular thing or the work that you do, post about that.

The more invested you are in a subject, the better your posts will be.

That’s a wrap for all the tips I have for you. If you like it, please do not forget to share it with your friends and colleagues.

  • How Joey Gives Rosa a Life Purpose—The Blackwell Legacy Review

How Joey Gives Rosa a Life Purpose—The Blackwell Legacy Review

Rosa felt alone for some time now. One evening, after writing an article, she felt a pain in her head before thinking of taking some rest.

Her eyebrow raised out of anxiety as she kept throwing questions into the air about the why on whatever was happening around her. It did not take long before the pain stopped.

Rosa felt relieved but remained flustered to the core. Suddenly, she noticed the picture of her with her Auntie Lauren standing over the T.V. flashing.

Rosa peeked at it and saw a ghostly figure appearing beside them. Her eyebrows raised again, body goose-bumped, as she encountered the invisible man, Joey, albeit not from the Friends T.V. show.

Her world turned dark as she blacked out on the floor.

Right there, the game picked off a new atmosphere with Joey’s presence as Rosa woke up to have a brief conversation.

Rosa’s suspense-filled shock drained almost instantly as she shrugged the incident off like it was a tea date, to which she expected Joey to arrive someday, even though she was not inviting it.

Soon she found her purpose as she got along with her invisible partner as both started a journey of deciphering the investigation of two murdered college students.

An invisible man like Joey could frighten just about anyone, but he had a different effect on Rosa, except for the blacking out part to which Joey offered a pun, with the charming characteristics that he brings.

    Story

The Blackwell Legacy shows us a young would-be writer Rosangela “Rosa” Blackwell as she was scattering the ashes of her last remaining family member off the Brooklyn Bridge.

What awaits her next is meeting the family ghost Joey Mallone who said that she could live a different life than her predecessors. This came as a relief to Rosa, who thought she would get the same hereditary dementia as her aunt.

However, she figures out a way to aspire for a better life, or according to what she heard from Joey.

    Graphics

The game boasts the use of pixelated graphics, especially how it was used numerously around that time, somewhat resembling the VGA graphics used in the 90s.

    Controls and Gameplay

The player can interact with the characters and objects in the environment by clicking on them. The left-click enables conversations or directs Rosa where to go, whereas the right-click lets you analyze items.

You can collect items in your inventory, all of which are useful for your investigation. Rosa also has a notepad where she writes down important keywords where she can connect two people or people with an object to complement her findings.

This game has great voice acting and the tone of characters make it a delight to invest in the conversations.

    The Impression

This was developer Dave Gilbert’s second game after his previous release “The Shivah,” which was a hit. The Blackwell Legacy is the first in a series of five games as we follow Rosa and her journey with her invisible partner Joey.

This is a unique story and one of a kind, a premise we can rely on some delightful story with the traditional controls from a point-and-click adventure.

After trying out a human and ghost teaming up to solve crimes, I feel much more excited to follow the series as it has four more games following up.

  • How to Live a Good Life? Start with these 10 Tips!

How to Live a Good Life? Start with these 10 Tips!

Stress is an unavoidable part of life and the leading cause of disease and untimely death.

But you don’t have to be a victim of your stress. With the right strategies, you can take charge of your stress, improve your overall health, reduce your risk of disease, and live a longer, happier life.

There’s no reason why you shouldn’t fight for the good life, too!

    Journaling

Journaling is one of the best ways to let out your stress. It can help you relax and get things off your chest. There are many methods for keeping a journal, but the most effective one is to use a physical journal.

The primary benefit is that you can record your thoughts in an easy-to-read format, thus easier to digest. The physical journal can also help you keep track of your progress.

However, if you are more of a mobile person, try using an app like Day One or Reflect to write your daily thoughts, which later saves them in the cloud. Some day, you might want to check on the good life you led through one of your writings.

Sometimes, it is better if you even discuss your positive and negative experiences with your close buddy. Either way is helpful, although a journal can act as your listener while you are the narrator.

So, experience the good life of journaling!

    Drink Water to Destress

Water is an essential element of your health. Our body must function properly, and we also need it for our daily activities.

Not enough water will get you dehydrated, and that is trouble. Yes, most people do not know this, but not drinking enough water can have an unhealthy weight loss.

Most of us have been there: you’re stressed out, overworked, and your skin, hair, and nails are all suffering. People think about good things but worry about losing their hair prematurely, about going bald, and worry about looking old.

But did you know you actually can destress your body with just water? Well, it can do wonders for your looks for a start, not just because it’s a healthy drink but because it doesn’t take much effort to drink it. It also improves your complexion.

So, use chemical products or drink water? Your choice!

    Balance your Diet

What makes up a good life better than having a “balanced diet?” It’s a question much of the population struggles with, and it’s frequently debated.

Some experts suggest a diet should comprise roughly equal numbers of soluble and insoluble carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Others believe that the best diet is one low in carbs and high in good fats.

Still, others think one should avoid processed foods altogether. And some even claim that a diet high in saturated fat or cholesterol is the healthiest.

Regardless to say, diet is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle, no matter how easier it is said than done. Various delicacies often tempt us to take on more unhealthy foods than necessary, and we overindulge when we get bored.

Once we binge on junk food, the desire to keep on eating it becomes even more overwhelming. There are a lot of misconceptions about healthy eating.

For example, many believe that it is essential to cut out carbohydrates.

However, carbohydrates are necessary for our diets. We need them to form our muscles and keep our brains functioning well. We need them to help our body store energy and give us the feeling of being full.

Just like balancing your diet, you can live a healthy and productive life.

Photo by Александар Цветановић from Pexels

    Sleep!

Sleep is the most critical element for a healthy body and a good life, perhaps not a new statement. While many people rarely think about the quantity of sleep they get, several things can make you feel you haven’t slept at all.

Since sleep deprivation is a real thing, we want you to give yourself enough sleep and wake up feeling more refreshed and healthy.

Better sleep will get you a healthy beginning and productive life.

Photo by Samuel Silitonga from Pexels

Meditate, Exercise, and Relax your Mind

What do you think when you come across the word “meditation?” Perhaps a monk seated in a silent room or a yogi in a peaceful forest, or maybe a Tibetan Buddhist monk performing a quiet meditation ritual?

Everyone meditates in different ways, and there is no one right way to do it. The point is to disregard the surroundings, focus on your breathing, and let your mind relax.

A productive life requires some relaxation. Meditation helps attain that. Well, it is the go-to for destressing and relaxing, but what about exercise?

Studies have shown that exercise boosts the mind, which can make it easier to relax. That’s because activity, whether through running, biking, or even yoga, helps your body work efficiently.

    Try Coffee Alternatives

Coffee is a beloved beverage, but drinking too much of it can lead to a host of issues and concerns. Some people are coffee addicts, while others are regular users who struggle to stay away from this strong stuff.

Some people find particular foods affect their ability to function well, while others find they need to improve their habits to avoid addiction. If you have a habit of drinking too much coffee, then maybe you should stop.

If you notice that it’s affecting your health, try turning to other more healthy alternatives like tea, kombucha, and even, yes, water. A happy cup of tea is the root of a happy morning, therefore, a happy life.

Photo by Binti Malu from Pexels

    Practice Positivity

Positive thinking is a famous phrase. Almost everyone wants to have a positive attitude and have a positive outlook on life, right?

However, this is not a new concept and has been around for a long time. The ancient Greeks, Buddhist monks, and early Christians used this in their teachings.

Positive thinking is a mindset that focuses on the positives in your life instead of the negatives. Think of a silver lining instead of a black cloud.

Positive thinking has been around as long as people have been around. We use it in every aspect of life, from positive affirmations in the morning to positive thinking during troublesome times.

The best way to stay positive is by starting with the right mindset and environment.

To lay a foundation for a positive lifestyle, you must first learn how to be positive.

Photo by George Shervashidze from Pexels

    Be Optimistic

If you want to be optimistic, the first thing you should do is stop assuming the worst, stop letting your fears dictate your life. The first step in becoming optimistic is to admit that you are a pessimist.

In your daily life, you may not realize how you feel, an indicator of how you live. It’s a simple concept but often overlooked.

Your feelings can tell you a lot about what you’re doing. We all feel wrong about something from time to time, and when you find yourself in a sour mood, it’s easy to feel you’ll never get out.

These feelings come and go, and they aren’t always accurate. Remember, they don’t give you a complete view of the world, and they’re not a guarantee of what’s coming.

So, shrug negativity off your shoulders as much as you can. Remember, this is a process. And you can do it. Be optimistic!

    Exercise your Brain

Brain exercise is a straightforward and well-known concept. The best way to exercise your brain is to do something that requires it.

But what if you can’t always find the time to exercise your brain? Well, it turns out there are tons of things you can do that require little mental exertion.

So if you want to exercise your brain, get started with easy brain-exercising exercises like having fun solving a jigsaw puzzle.

Photo by Rakicevic Nenad from Pexels

    Do Something Creative

Life is hectic. We cannot have a productive life without living challenging us.

We have jobs, projects, and other stuff we want to get done, but sometimes it’s hard to find the time for it.

That’s why every day, we must opt for some fun and engaging activities.

Today, you could try one! How about painting or perhaps, some knitting?

Remember, you do you! Cause, your mind is the most attractive thing!

  • 5 Signs You’re Too Busy and How to Relax

5 Signs You’re Too Busy and How to Relax

You are one BUSY individual! Perhaps, you are a manager or one of those hard-working professionals looking for ways to improve your daily regimen without being too harsh on yourself.

Any routine change is already a topic that gets us anxious enough to not even start it. The very mention of this subject likely dozes us off to our individual boring lives as we carry on.

However, there is always something you can look up to, and here we are with the signs that you are too harsh with yourself and how you can take it down a notch.

    1. Hardly any Time for Family

When you are home, you find yourself with all the energy withdrawn from whatever you had in the early morning. Don’t sweat it! Our bodies need motivation as much as our minds do, which is why we can improve our lifestyle in a way that complements our routine—that includes maintaining our energy.

Solution: Try to sit for dinner with your loved ones at home at least a few times a week, if not daily. Try whatever is necessary to make it happen by calling keeping this goal upfront with people you work that hour.

    2. Eating without a Break

You’re eating while doing other tasks simultaneously. There’s a list of tasks you are ought to do. However, if you cannot make time for your own health, you’re doing yourself an injustice. Taking care of oneself is not selfish, instead, it is one of the most important things in life. If you’re healthy, you can also make others’ lives better by being there for them.

Solution: You need to set aside at least 15-minutes for each meal during the day. If you want to enjoy a little snack during the day, ask your supervisor for 10-15 minutes. Remember, the more you eat as long as it’s healthy food, the more you will feel relaxed whether it’s to work or do other stuff.

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio from Pexels

    3. You hate Waking Up in the Morning

You’re more tired in the morning than before you hit the bed. This is a common occurrence between people who either like to work at night or people who are overscheduled with work during the day that their mind is super awake during the night.

Solution: Set aside all the distractions sometime before sleeping. If you cannot exit everything, at least limit yourself to just watching T.V. without touching any of your mobile devices before sleeping. Also, drink chamomile tea, warm milk, or any other food that helps people to sleep better. Perhaps, read a book as it might help to get sleepy for some people.

Photo by Alex Andrews from Pexels

    4. Loneliness by Losing Relationship with People and God

When you are tied up with everything, you hardly have time for those who are important—family, friends, and God. People who care about you will always try to want good things for you. Don’t lose them! They will notice if you somehow distance yourself in a way that might cause you to become lonely in the future. At times, you miss praying to God, for the rush of life passes you by so fast that you do not find time to contemplate things going well.

Solution: Be adamant in maintaining your important relationships. If you have to give time to your loved ones, prioritize it, keeping everything else aside. Slowly and steadily, you will feel more at ease doing it one day.

    5. You are losing track of things in Life

You don’t stop to think about where you’re going in your career, in your relationship, or in life. Perhaps, finding time to plan it out well before you need to take steps would be better at this time and this hour.

Solution: Where do you see yourself in the next five years? During interviews, a common question whose answer can help you define your life is divided into baby steps to getting there.

“When life gives you lemons, use them to make lemonade.”

    An old proverb

The above tells us that we need to face adversity with courage when life throws us challenges. Like turning a sour lemon into sweet lemonade, we can turn a negative experience into a positive one.

Some of us may not be able to reduce our stress, at least not that quickly. Some of us are just too busy doing things that make our livelihood, spending more hours without getting much in return. Perhaps, we need to try our best in our little ways to help prevent things from controlling us and promote work-life balance.

And for those who have free time besides work, then that’s beautiful! Work on yourself and the people around you.

  • Playing a Plague Adventure Amidst the Pandemic—Unforeseen Incidents Review

Playing a Plague Adventure Amidst the Pandemic—Unforeseen Incidents Review

The dying woman got her wishes respected and rightfully by none other than the shabby-looking jacket-and-jeans-clothed Harper Pendrell, who is the lead character.

Indeed, this guy from Yelltown did not think his day would go about helping someone other than repairing laptops for his fellow citizens as a handyman, let alone stumbling upon and accepting a dying stranger’s request who’s struggling in a life-and-death situation.

Astoundingly, his concern grows much more as he figures out that she already caught the much-talked-about virus around Yelltown. The virus, namely the Yelltown fever, turned the neighborhood’s attitude by frightening even the friendliest of neighbors to open doors for people they know, let alone help, probably how we went through the beginning of the pandemic.

    The Meaningful Encounter

Harper may not be the sharpest character in this wonderfully crafted game, but his heart is at the right place.

He decides on a person’s life-changing situation, and he wanted to stay on the right side of things; he went on to look for an honest reporter named Helliwell, as per the request of the ailing woman.

As he embarks on what we call an otherwise evil conspiracy, Harper faces many interesting characters that do not just go by but also stick to us as we play the game, making the characters’ presence respectful.

    The Gameplay

The gameplay may seem like any traditional point-n-click adventure where you use the mouse and combine items to form something meaningful with the character’s inventory system.

The pen-n-ink-styled visual makes it even more remarkable to the eyes.

The character’s self-puns on the run would make it all a worthwhile and enjoyable treat, especially for people like me who tend to like talking to themselves.

    The Impression

Backwoods Entertainment, the German developer, introduced a flashy game with the gloomy title ‘Unforeseen Incidents’ in a rather hand-sketched graphic-styled outlook.

I came upon this game during the pandemic and started enjoying this incredible hand-sketched adventure. This exciting graphical delicacy includes compelling characters as the game progresses.

We do not see that many as captivating as this game, the price of too stands at a mere $8.19 on Steam, thus giving us the chance to enjoy the atmosphere it brings to the world of us adventure game-seekers. I love this game!

  • Plagiarism Hurts the Society Because it Makes us Unoriginal!

Plagiarism Hurts the Society Because it Makes us Unoriginal!

Plagiarism is getting more and more common to the average student every day. Millions, if not Billions, have tried to copy one or two assignments for quick submission in their college semesters. This happens because people want a quick way out of a situation. I strongly feel that it causes a problem and we should show strictness to a certain level to stimulate growth in individuals.

Some people may argue that plagiarism is equivalent to stealing someone’s work, and they are rightful in their claim. We can pretty much agree that once a person works really hard with his/her research, s/he tends to get a positive result out of it in the end. Now, that research, if it gets stolen by some people to do some work assignment without putting in the time themselves, would suggest that education has not reached that high level for individuals to think for themselves and put in the effort.

On the other hand, people with a different perspective might opt-in for discussion that education should be free and such can apply to research. We should accept the fact that people paraphrase the exact research paper. In other words, paraphrasing a research paper does get one out of the purview of the plagiarism tool, and that it fails to offer a formidable challenge to the students doing so. This is because one is only copying a paper without exactly copying but using his/her own words.

I feel that plagiarism is not okay. I feel we should value one’s time, and thus, his or her effort in expressing originality. Hence, plagiarism should be strictly forbidden the way it is being practiced in many institutions. Do you think zero-tolerance should be practiced?

  • Apple Arcade’s New Adventure in Antarctica—South of the Circle Review

Apple Arcade’s New Adventure in Antarctica—South of the Circle Review

There is not much gameplay as there are emotions in this game. John Lau, Creative Producer, in one of his interviews compared it to a Netflix drama. This game is more palatable for the audience who likes to enjoy the story while playing less.

Stranded after an aircraft crash, Peter wanders around the cold to find help for his pilot and himself. He finds astonishing details along the path during the Cold War. The player’s apparent struggle and the strong whooshing wind give most of the scenes a survival delight. Throughout his journey, we ride back and forth between his Cambridge days as an academic struggling with his research and fighting the cold in Antarctica. We could see how his Professor and his colleagues used to view things the way people used to in the 60s and stark contrast to how Peter thought.

The gameplay is pretty basic. Whether you are playing on an iPad or iPhone, you need to tap on the screen when the dialogue prompts you. The player can pick one of two or three options—each has a different emotion that triggers further replies from other non-playable characters.

Bringing in the 60s was a challenging feat. However, this narrative story-driven game between Peter’s past and present is something I found pleasant trying. Love, memory, and survival—this Apple Arcade’s new adventure game has them all. And I loved playing it.

If it sounds like a game you would want to try, head over to Apple Arcade now from an Apple device and give it a try:

  • A Unique Take of a Preacher on Life—The Shivah Review

A Unique Take of a Preacher on Life—The Shivah Review

Suffering. Questions. How could God let this happen? A Rabbi at a poor synagogue wondered for a moment. It is daunting to see no support from the people to whom he means to deliver his speeches. Perhaps, delivering a successful lecture depends on the person’s speaking skills—how well his/her words can lift someone’s spirit. It is also imperative to empathize and putting oneself in different shoes. It seems the Rabbi seeks some answers himself.

The Shivah opens the scene with Rabbi Russell Stone, delivering a sermon at his synagogue to a tiny audience—an old lady who’s asleep, the cantor, and himself. Interesting how small the audience is. We find out that the people stopped going to his place for some reason—perhaps, they wanted to see some life but ended up listening to a frustrated preacher. It leads us to question whether the irregular attendance was because of his faith crisis or was it the other way around?

Patience is a virtue in life; however, we need to understand perspectives here when the going gets tough. The opening scene gains traction soon as a detective comes by questioning the Rabbi whether he knew anything about the murder of one of his past followers, the reason being the lumpsum amount of money the deceased left for the synagogue runner. Sounds both interesting and befuddling as the Rabbi scratches his head to this one as I did mine.

The Shivah presents a mystery that will keep us engaged. We follow a preacher trying to make sense of why things turned out in a certain fashion. This game will let us think, and I felt genuinely involved.
